This Week in Review

Easter Sunday ... was spent in the hills outside our fair city of Vienna. We sat, overlooking the country side, eating fresh veggies, fruit, and hummus. We watched the kids hunt for easter eggs. We laid around like slugs in the warm sun. We laughed as young boys in our team "poo pooed" in the woods. A good time was had by all!

School Bells Toll ... for the Elledge girls. A rather apprehensive Libby starts on Wednesday. She will attend an all German-speaking Kindergarten right down the street from our home. Her teachers seem very nice, speak some English, and invited me to come the first day alongside Libby. There will be one other English-speaking student in her class.

Addison and Parker will go Wednesday to their new school, Vienna Christian School, for assessments and placement tests. Addison is so anxious to start school she can't stand it ... Parker doesn't realize what's coming down the pike!

Culture Shock ... hit us hard the first week or so ... won't go there but let's just say it wasn't pretty! Now, our home is starting to shape up. I actually have one room that looks like us. Everything is very modern. It's hard to find old stuff as most stores have the IKEA look going on. However, I have found a little shop that does has stuff that is new but looks old and ... the best part ... it's cheap!! I didn't realize what we were doing by getting on a plane with just clothes. We've had to buy plates, cups, towels, coffee maker, napkin holder, wash clothes, rugs, tables, chairs, beds, pillows ... you get the picture!

Pray ... Johsua 6:1-2 for Vienna. "Now the gates of Jericho (the hearts of Vienna) were tightly shut because the peole were afraid of the Israelits ... but the Lord said to Joshua, I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors." That's what we envision for our city.

We love you ... we have a working phone (the number is 43-01-974-7147) ... all is good.

  1. oh my. I didn't even think about the little things. Or the all things modern part. Do you feel like a newlywed?? Starting from the bottom. Not knowing much about what life will be like. Having to find yourself in a new place and try to fit there...hmmm...I will especially be praying for the girlies this week (as well as y'all!) Love you a ton!
