Top Ten Things We've Experienced Since You Last Heard From Us in Vienna, Austria!
10.Parker has overdosed on bread ... lots and lots of bread.
9. We met neighbors: John and Gilly from England and Catherine, Helena (4 yrs) and Lawrence (1 yr), and Brigetta ... the most friendly little old Austrian woman on the planet!
8. We discovered we can walk down the street and sit by the Danue River and see the United Nations building.
7. Public transportation is good for Chris' nerves as the driving here is about to push him over the edge.
6. The McDonalds is shockingly good here!
5. IKEA has a clearance department ... got a 1,098 euro couch on clearance for 450 euro because of a cosmetic flaw!
4. Shrank's (Austrian closets you have to buy) are a pain to put together and couldn't not have done it without the help of our colleagues.
3. When buying ice cream, even if there is a place to sit down, don't! The places to sit down are only for bigger paying customers ... like buying fancy ice cream dishes or coffee and cake.
2. We love Pizza Vienna style! We found a place just down the street from our apartment that is run by an Italian family that speaks German!
1. God is in Austria, too!
We've experienced a little bit of culture shock, a lot of coffee, a bit of driver's rage, and a whole lot of comfort from our Father.
Already we've begun to build baby relationships with our neighbors. Pray that these relationships would blossom into ones that would glorify Christ! Pray for Libby as she goes to all German-speaking Kindergarten. Pray for Addison and Parker as they go through a testing process for their school next week. Pray that Chris and I would not shy away from speaking about Christ even though we can't speak the language.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. You don't know how important your prayers are ... we feel them and covet them ... as we, too, pray for you!
Much love and joy ... Christina
