It's Father's Day in Austria!
That's right! In Austria, Father's Day is/was celebrated today instead of next weekend in America. Chris, however, is trying to get both holidays this year but I veto the idea!
So, this weeks blog is in honor of the ONE guy that lives with all the Elledge girls. He deserves much praise, adoration, and testosterone filled activities available to him! Hip, hip, hooray for all the PMS moments he's had to endure, all the panties he's had to fold, and all the times he had to go to the store and buy certain unmentionables. What a guy!
So, in honor of this most courageous fellow, he got to do whatever he wanted on his day. Here's his schedule:
1. Slept in.
2. Had all the time he wanted/needed without interruption in the bathroom (this is a major miracle seeing how this man lives with 4 women!)
3. Watched one of his favorite movies on the planet (see picture).
4. Went to one of the largest city park's, Donau Park, and had a picnic and vegged out (more pics).
Now, on to more important things ... (yep, that was our tribute to our man) ... some of you wished to know the things we can't get here in Vienna. Should you feel the urge to send them our way, the post office does has an envelope for $12.95 and anything you can stuff inside goes for that price. This, of course, is not a comprehensive list, but things we've discovered so far and will, of course, be updating the list from time to time.
Brownie mix
Ashgwanda (a natural herb)
Ear plugs (the silicone kind you can get cheap at Wal-mart)
Butterfingers
Aloe Vera Gel (the clear kind you get at Wal-mart)
Inexpensive pens
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer (Natural colors)
Cotton balls (Round ones)
American Movies
Avon Mascara
Should you choose to send any of these, please put on your customs form that the contents if a "gift". We have had a package held hostage in customs and didn't get it for a few weeks. So far, labeling the contents as a gift, video, books etc. works fine. However, if anyone affiliated with the Austrian postal service reads this we are all in trouble!
That's it for this little corner of the world. Enjoy the photos ...
