No News is ... No News
Weather Report:
The sky stays rather grey. The temperatures have remained at a firigid 28 - 32F for days on end. (Although taoday was 21). The Donau River is almost frozen. White snow can only be found in areas that see no humans. The snow near the roadways are black from dirt. The wind blows right through you. You must dress in layers before braving the elements. You have to plan an extra 7 minutes to get ready to add all your layers before leaving the house. Double socks have become the norm. Boots always remain wet.
Mood Report:
The grey skys have made us realize how grumpy others are ... and often time ourselves. The cold temperatures have gone from being cozy to annoying. The white snow makes us smile and the black snow goes unnoticed. The wind makes us catch our breath. The layers have become routine. The extra 7 minutes needed to get out the door are annoying. The double socks are dirty and are boots are making a mess that's getting on my nerves!
End Result:
This is what my friend Carrie affectionately calls the "ugly" season in Vienna!
So, before you think I'm all out of hope, think again! Each day is a new day to let God remind me that He has put me where He wants me.
This Sunday, Chris and I are taking our two youngest to a training retreat in Germany. Addison will be staying here with friends. I knowo that I have been ever faithful to my blog ... but I've gotten off to a slow start after the holidays!
Have no fear! After next week, it will be business as usual ... perhaps even better!
