Impossible! Christmas.

Siting here this morning with coffee and my Book thinking about:  Impossible.  The list of things to do most days, the obligations we must fulfill, the demands of life that need to be met.  Making sense of tragedy, explaining the unexplainable, soothing a hurting heart, especially if these are being experienced by a loved one.  Rising above hard to accomplish good.  Holding your head high when rumors defame character.  Striving to be a person of integrity when others don't hold the same values.  Impossible.

During this gay ol' season of holiday cheer and merriment, most people around me are facing one crisis, coming of age story, or difficulty all wrapped in different packages.  Some are fighting to hold on.  Some are giving up.  Some are stuffing all emotion to just plow ahead.  Some ... some are just doing the best they can.

I am struck by what God does in hard, obligatory, demanding ... impossible situations.  He.does.the.impossible!  I'm not pushing an agenda, trying to convert to a way of thinking, ramming my right to freedom of speech down unwilling throats ... I'm just saying what I've experienced.  God does the impossible.

During this Christmas season, I am ever so reflective of all the impossible God has done ... starting with a baby being born as the answer to years of prayers and prophets promises ... and is still doing in my own life!

God has orchestrated events in my life:
  • to allow me to marry a great man
  • be called Momma to three ladies that make me quiver with pride
  • healed my broken heart over loosing a child ... and my Momma
  • provided mortgage payments when the bank account was drained
  • given me perspective and wisdom to allow my sister become one of my best friends
  • allowed me to see my Daddy remarry someone I call "Mom"
  • shown me the depths of darkness through anxiety only to also see the other side ... the side of healing
  • to chase a calling to live overseas
  • to simply hear His voice in my living room ...

... for me to see that He does ... the ... impossible.

In awe,
Christina
