Observations from an Out-of-Towner

A sweet friend of mine is visiting from Vienna.  This is her first time in the good ol' U.S. of A!  She spent 2 weeks in Florida and now is getting her feet wet in the heartland of America - Oklahoma!  I must share with you her observations!

1.  Every one carries a to-go cup.
2.  You can not order juice in an adult size portion with your dinner.
3.  No one walks, jogs or rides their bike.
4.  Portion sizes are enough for an entire family.
5.  All stores have a rest room - weird.
6.  People do not dress weather appropriate.
7.  The average house is enormous.
8.  There is a CVS on every corner.
9.  No one recycles

And here's my favorite.  She wanted to know why, upon entering any store, a salesperson will greet you with "Hello.  How are you?".  Did they really want to know how she was doing and should she take the time to tell a stranger how she was really doing!?!

You gotta love the land of the free and the brave!!

Feeling American,
christina
