Chance Encounter

Today, as I was walking home, I was asked for directions.  The young woman who asked me for them was a student and spoke barely any German ... yet she tried.  I knew this was a great opportunity to show some kindness to a fellow human being.  I looked at the address she was seeking and began to ask her to follow me as we walked down the street.  As we found the address, she apologized for having taken up so much of my time (it was 2 minutes)!  I asked her where she was from ... Iran.  She thanked me again and hurried off to her destination. She thought I was Austrian.

As she left, I prayed for her to find whatever she was looking for in the person of Jesus Christ.  I love how God orchestrates peoples lives.  Today, as I walked back home, I thought about my little Iranian student ... who now has a better impression of Austrians because she mistook me for one.

Chance encounter?
Divine appointment.
