Breathing
Breathing. That's what I am learning to do. In a variety of ways, forms and styles ... I am training, discovering and desiring ways to breath in this ... my home culture.
My backyard offers me unlimited minutes of breathing time and space. Green grass, the occasional bunny, squirrels and too many birds to count are my helpers. I've never seen the neighbors that live behind me. I hear nothing but the distant sound of a passing train and of course ... the music of my outside companions.
Walking in my new environment allows me to breath while at the same time get healthy. Long story ... continuing story ... but after my illness, I gained weight. Long story ... continuing story ... but recently I know God has allowed me to get a clearer picture of health. Exercise, eating healthy, energy causing activities ... these all make me healthy. My goal is not a number but rather optimal health.
Coffee and my morning time give me such moments of deep breathing I fear I may explode. I have to tell you that I love quiet. I love holding a cup of coffee (without sugar) and reading this book that gives me so much hope despite my circumstances. This feeling of hearing from One that spoke the world into existence ... feeling Him smile with me ... sensing His nearness ... oh my word.
Today, this is the lesson ... breathing.
