Impressions about God

Since being back, I've gotten some impressions of who others think God to be.  I find them all interesting ... fascinating ... down right breathtaking.  Since I love words, I love how others use their words to put into concrete the vague emotion about a Creator.  Here are some of them:

I think He's out there, I just can't trust Him.
He has shown me something.
I haven't talked with Him much.
I don't know if there is a God.
What has He done for me?
He has done so much for me.

And then, being a person of words, I like to pick up on the feelings, sentiments, observations that go unsaid.  The things that linger around in the head.  Things like:

I don't feel Him in my church.
Church seems to much of an obligation.
Religion is fake.
Social club theology.

This excites me.  If something is not growing, morphing, evolving - then it's dead.  This makes me feel that there is a longing ... a real desire ... a movement of wanting to know something more about God.  "Yahoo!" say I ... one who has found God ... and found Him to be a wild adventure.

I don't buy into pop culture theology about God.  I can only tell you of my experience.  I'm pretty sure He has a big smile on His face ... a bit giddy even at the prospect of a generation of humans (that He created by the way) who are searching.  One word and He's there ... ready to show who He really is.
