My Little Bison

It's official.  Addison is a bison.  So as to not confuse you, she has not become  a North American species that once roamed the grassland of North America in massive herds. Nope.  This term is used in the context of becoming a freshman at Oklahoma Baptist University.  She's now a bison and she has the t-shirt to prove it!

Yesterday she stepped foot onto the campus for the first time.  She got the tour.  She saw her dorm room.  She met her counselor.  She got her student I.D.  She saw where the new Starbucks (and my money) will be located.  She got it all.

As my Chris and I walked behind her as she chatted with the student giving the tour, we just observed.  She navigated through the whole experience like an ... adult.  I didn't have to remind her to ask about random facts that would pop into my brain.  She had already asked them.  She was quick to point out the security building and the fact they had 24 hour security officers on duty.  I was there to hold papers or ask for a form while she did something else.

I'm realizing that the new chapter has turned.  It's OK.  It's new.  It was always gonna happen.  I've been preparing for this stage of life.  I'm OK.

I just never dreamed it would happen so fast ...
