This would be Libby putting the angel atop our tree.  This would also be her Daddy, boosting her up, and telling her to hurry up before he drops her!

This girl of mine is such a traditionalist.  We picture the young as changers of tradition, forging their own way, rejecting all that has been for what will be, the dreamers, the thinkers of new thoughts ... but my Libby is stuck in the past.

"Stuck" defined:  tied to, appreciator of the old, the longing of what has been and what will be again. As the youngest, perhaps there is a seeing of changes more in the family that fuels her longing for the past.  She's seen a big sister leave the home and has watched the dynamics of what that looks like on a day-to-day basis.  She's seen her other big sister grow wings and become more and more independent as she makes her way for departure one of these days.  Libby lingers.

I don't want to enable my youngest.  She, too, must one day spread wings and take flight.  However, she's got time.  That's means I have time.  More time to be "stuck".  More time to linger.  I love that my teacher of time value is my daughter.
