New Tradition
I love decorating. So much so, that I have almost wanted to abandon these "precious" (code word for homely) treasured decorations made from little hands that are now as big or bigger than mine! We have so many decorations that have been made, purchased, or received as gifts that the tree can't hold them all.
This year, trying to keep things "fresh", I put all the undesirables into pots. These pots sit in places of holy reverence on the dining table. Last night, the unveiling of my new, "fresh" idea hit the family. While eating, we took one of these misfits and recalled a story or a memory it brought to mind.
It was really fun. I love hearing from my girls their memories ... their personal take ... on our past.
And thus ... just like that ... a new tradition has been born.
loving the homely ones,
christina
